Cargo Inspections
The cargoes we inspect may be bulk, break bulk, containerised, rolling stock or individual items such as machinery, smaller vessels, etc.
We offer a comprehensive range of surveys such as:
- Preshipment. Inspections cover condition, measurement, protection of cargo, lashing/securing and stowage.
- Cleanliness. Suitability of holds and spaces for refrigerated and general cargoes.
- Loading. Surveys cover observing the loading process, stowage and securing onboard.
- Discharge. Surveys include pre-discharge condition, the discharge process, and loading/securing to transportation.
The type of survey arranged can include:
- Condition of cargo (pre-load or outturn)
- Quantity of cargo (using Draft Surveys and/or weighbridge figures)
- Damage to cargo (ascertaining cause and extent of loss)
- Heavy lifts
- Cargo verification and packing
Surveys can be undertaken onboard vessels, on the wharf or at any other location (eg. point of dispatch or delivery of cargo)
